App Store: account deletion was not in the app
Review stopped because people can create an account and cannot start deletion inside the app.
The error
Guideline 5.1.1(v) - Data Collection and Storage We noticed that the app supports account creation but does not include an option to initiate account deletion.
What it means
Guideline 5.1.1(v) requires account deletion in the app when the app supports account creation. Reviewers try the binary. A website link, a support email, or a button that only hides the profile does not meet it. If the account was created with Sign in with Apple, deletion also needs Apple's token revocation, which Apple documents alongside this rule. The same rule applies if the account was created automatically.
Fix
- Sign in with a new account on the build you submitted and look for deletion without leaving the app.
- Add a confirmation step, then delete the account on the server, including personal data you are not required to keep.
- If Sign in with Apple is enabled, revoke the tokens through Apple's REST API as part of that deletion.
- Reply in App Store Connect once the new binary is uploaded. Do not only change the website.
- Keep a way to sign out as well. Sign-out is not a substitute for deletion.

Questions
Is a link to a website enough?
No. Apple's guidance for 5.1.1(v) says deletion has to be available in the app. A web page can confirm details, but the person has to be able to start the process inside the binary you submitted.
Can deletion take a few days?
Apple allows deletion that is not instant, as long as the person can start it in the app and you finish it. Say that clearly on the confirmation screen. Do not leave the request in a queue you never run.
We only use Sign in with Apple. Does this still apply?
Yes, if that creates an account. Revoke the tokens when the person deletes it. Apple's account-deletion support page describes that case.
